CROSBY, NORTH DAKOTA
Probably Crosby, North Dakota, about 1917
These photos are part of a large collection of loose and mostly unidentified photos owned by my mother,
Margaret Carlson. They were probably taken in Crosby, but one or more may have been taken in Minnesota (Kenmare,
Kensington or Princeton). After looking through other photo albums, I suspect that some of the
children shown here, in addition to Carlsons, may be their Hanmer playmates.
This is the only photo which is dated: "April 1, 1917" is written on the back, but the children are unidentified.
The wall behind them is most certainly the Presbyterian Church in Crosby.
Unidentified children. The girl at far left may be my mother, Margaret Carlson, so this would be Crosby about 1915 or so.
This might be a May Day celebration. The church has been identified as the Presbyterian Church in Crosby.
The older girl in the center is almost certainly my mother, Margaret Carlson. She looks too old for this to
be a North Dakota photo, so this might have been taken in Kenmare or Princeton, Minnesota (she graduated from high school in Princeton
in 1930).
This girl is identified as my mother and the time of year is March, but unfortunately no year is given.
Probably taken in Crosby.
Unidentified children, probably in Crosby, ND. Can you identify the location?
Unidentified children, although the girl on the left is most likely my mother or her sister Cathryn. The same two girls appear in the photo below. Probably taken in Crosby, ND.
Unidentified people, although the girl in the white dress is most likely my mother.
Probably taken in Crosby, ND.
Can you provide names or details?
