McDONALDS CORNERS,
LANARK COUNTY, ONTARIO
School and students at McDonald's Corners, Ont., about 1880.
This photograph was purchased at the Mary Robinson auction, McDonald's Corners, Sept. 2000.
Original print is 14 by 10-1/2 inches.
In a 1991 video of the history of McDonald's Corners, Mary Robinson showed this photo and said it was taken about 1880. She also
pointed out the boy who was to become her grandfather, and said that the bearded man standing in the back, third from right,
was Mr. Purdon who was a school trustee.
The school is still used on a daily basis as a community centre and craft studio.
August 15, 2008: This photo, still in its original frame, was donated to the
Lanark County Archives.
