Toronto streets, autumn of 1972
This records an afternoon of wandering through Toronto streets with my camera. Today I can't imagine limiting myself to 21 photos in an afternoon, but in the days of film it wasn't unusual. I started off from my home on Spruce Street, walked up Parliament to Carlton, then west to Allan Gardens, then down Yonge, probably to Queen, then to City Hall. The photos after the popcorn vendor at City Hall are at the China Mall on Spadina (I only posted one here) then I ended up down on King Street at the site of the demolished Toronto Star building. I was hoping to get some shots of my old workplace but it had disappeared except for a few twisted girders. These 18 photos of the 21 on the film, are posted in the order they were taken.

Photo 4. It is hard to believe that this part of Carlton Street used to be an actual neighbourhood where kids played on the sidewalks. The intersection of Carlton & Sherbourne is in the distance.
