Many thanks to Brian McMullan of Smiths Falls, who emailed me the following: "This picture was taken on Oak St. Smiths Falls, between Brockville St. and Jasper Ave. The lady is Annie Davidson. She and her husband Alex ran that small dairy booth for many years. I frequented the "Booth" almost daily during the 50's and early 60's. During the winter they operated out of their house on the same property."
If you look at Oak Street in Streetview on Google Maps, the old dairy bar is still standing, but re-incarnated as a garage. The house, which is invisible beyond the left of the photo is now a vacant lot. This photo was purchased in the early 2000's at a flea market in Smiths Falls, and has now passed out of my hands.
